A cash gift registry works like any traditional registry – but rather than being limited to the items a particular store has in stock – you can register for anything you want. You simply make a list of all the gifts you want and break down the cost of each gift into increments that your guests can purchase. People were frustrated because no single registry provided for everything that they wanted and they were forced to register at several different stores. Another big complaint was that people also wanted big ticket items on their registry – but those items were usually too expensive for one person to gift – and most traditional registries did any allow guests to pool money to purchase these gifts. Also, people wanted the option to register for experiences rather than "stuff" – like their perfect honeymoon or vacation.
